I picked up this title after reading about it online. It sounded like it could possibly be a cute, fun read. I have never read any of this author's books before; this one did not work for me. I had a big problem with the dialogue. None of it sounded genuine. Even the language in the letters came across as forced, and was obviously a trite plot device to move the story along and create drama where there wasn't much of a story happening. The dialogue between the characters as children did not sound like conversation between 7-year-olds. Both characters are insanely good looking, and the hero of the story is so perfect every woman pants after him, he wins every popularity contest, etc. The conversations between the hero and his college professor lead me to believe the author is not familiar with how colleges/universities work. None of the characters came across as sounding particularly intelligent, and parts of the story that were obviously meant to be amusing weren't. The two main characters were paper thin (to me) and neither one was particularly likable. The heroine was especially annoying. Frankly, she did not come across as being very bright. I can overlook a lot of things in characters in a book, but stupid is not one of them. Maybe other works by this author are wonderful, but this example of her writing does not compel me to read more.

Forget You Ethan An Enemies to Lovers Romance edition by Whitney G Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Whitney, Whitney where or where do you get your ideas. They're fresh and so much fun to read.
Ethan and Rachel met each other when they were 7. Just like Sincerely Carter you get to experience the awkward moment of a forced friendship
at a young age .
As they got older they definitely rained on each others parade but that was just a cover for their true feelings because deep down they really cared about each other.
Rachel is back after 3 college semesters at sea.
Let the fun begin with Ethan roommate Greg, he accidentally burned down the previous house they rented, ( his excuse is priceless ) so when he" suggested " a bigger, more luxurious and very pricey beach house Ethan thinks he nuts but has to go along with it since Greg have him no choice . Greg made an executive decision and already forged Ethans name on the lease ,they will need several roommates to help with the rent. Rachel accidentally becomes their new roomie since her deal fell through, giving her and Ethan a chance to rediscover their feelings for other.
(Can Greg get a job working for a main character in the next installment of An Enemies to Lovers Romance.)
Whitney's magic is all here great banter between everyone, chemistry galore for our h/h, hot alpha that is Ethan , sprinkle of past place from a previous book ( sincerely Carter ) .
Love the ending where it ties it all together very creatively.
I believe "Forget You, Ethan" has been on my GR's "Want To Read" list for about a year. The long wait, which included a couple of postponements, was well worth it.

I loved all the "Back Then" chapters as there were a myriad of LOL moments... loved the banter and the one-upmanship moments between Ethan and Rachel. The "Back Then 17 Years Old" chapter pushed this book to a 5+⭐️ book for me. This book made me laugh and cry... a hilarious, touching, sweet Enemies/Friends-to-Lovers book with light heat.

"Forget You, Ethan" is most definitely a re-readable book. Thank you, Whitney G.
I love a good friends/enemies to lovers romance and Forget You, Ethan was fantastic.

Rachel and Ethan first met when they were 7 1/2 when they lived in the same neighborhood and from that very first meeting they were enemies that did everything together. They would get each other in trouble and they had each others backs. Even once they graduated high school and went on to college they still looked out for each other. When Rachel left her freshman year to spend the next 3 years of her college time doing a semester at sea her and Ethan continued to write letters back and forth to each other, providing updates on their lives. However, Rachel decided to head back to land for her senior year of college and needed a place to stay, renting a home with two other students, one of which happened to be Ethan. The chemistry and tension between these two is explosive, but will they continue to be enemies or will it become more?

My thoughts

I absolutely loved the letters between Rachel and Ethan. It provided a funny insight into their relationship with each other. As much as they claimed to dislike each other, you could feel their bond, that they truly cared about one another.

I did feel that Ethan was a little arrogant and a little alpha male at times, but he also had his sweet moments. Rachel seemed so naive and clueless about everything, but I guess spending 3 years at sea with limited internet access could lead to that.

I laughed, I cried and I swooned while reading this story. It is a fantastic summer read and definitely adding to my favorites under the enemies to lovers category.
